How Heaven can be your Home!
1. Admit you are a sinner
“For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23
2. Abandon your efforts
The penalty for sin is death:
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23.
The Bible speaks of the second death which is the lake of fire:
“And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.” Revelation 20:14
None of us can merit salvation and Heaven through ourselves or good works:
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9
3. Acknowledge Christ’s payment
“But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8.
2000 years ago Christ paid our sin debt when He shed His blood and died on a cross for our sins. If you die and go to Hell, it won’t be due to the sin debt. The sin debt has already been paid!
4. Accept Christ as your Saviour
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation…. For whosoever sall call upon the name of the Lord, shall be saved.”
Romans 10:9-10,13
While we do not believe a ritualistic prayer will get anyone to Heaven, we do believe calling upon the name of the Christ with an attitude of repentance and trusting Him and Him alone for salvation will get you to Heaven. Pray…
“Dear God I know that I am a sinner and I know that I’m going to Hell. But the best I know how, I am trusting your Son Jesus as my Saviour. Please Lord come into my life and save me from my sin. In Christ’s name I do pray, Amen.”
